CABBAGE

Cabbage is a small green leafy vegetable that is round in shape. Cabbage is a low-calorie food that is a rich source of carbohydrates, protein & various minerals. The various states of India where cabbage is produced are Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, Assam, West Bengal & Karnataka.

Cabbage is mainly grown on sandy to heavy soil which is rich in organic matters. The pH value of the soil should be in the range of 6.0 – 6.5.

In India cabbage is grown in an area that is cool & moist. The temperature range for the ideal growth of cabbage is between 15°C - 21° C.
