Cucumber is widely cultivated due to its edible fruit. The nutritional value of cucumber is low but due to its flavored taste, it is popularly used in making salads.
Cucumbers are mainly grown in cool climates & warmer areas. The ideal temperature for growing cucumber is 21°C - 32° C. Cucumber generally takes 55-60 days from the sowing day to reach the harvest stage. Their plants need to be protected with coverings in order to avoid infections. The soil needs to be watered on regular basis to avoid dryness because Cucumbers are about 95%water.
