POMEGRANATE
Pomegranate is one of the most important fruit crops in India. It is mainly cultivated in Maharashtra and also in some parts of states like Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab & Haryana.
Pomegranate is generally consumed raw & also in form of juice, jam & sweet drinks. It also has many health benefits like it is used to increase the blood flow in the body & is also good for fair skin.
Pomegranate grows very well under semi-arid conditions & can be grown on 500 m above seal level. It grows under hot, dry summer. Sandy loam soil or alluvial soil is essential for the growth of pomegranate.
