GREEN PEAS
Green Peas which are popularly known as garden peas is a type of vegetable crop in India. Green Peas are used for various purposes like vegetable cooking, making soup, etc. The major green peas-producing states in India are Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Bihar & Odisha.
Green peas grow best in moist & cool regions. The preferred temperature for good growth of Green Peas should be between 10°C - 30°C. The ideal rainfall should be 500 mm for the growth of the crop.
Green Peas can be grown on a wide range of soils but grows well in well-drained soil which is rich in organic matter. The pH value of the soil should be in the range of 6-8.
