LADYFINGER
Ladyfinger is also known as Okra is an annual plant. It is consumed as a vegetable in India. It is a rich source of vitamins, protein, calcium & other minerals. The major growing states in India are Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal & Odisha.
Ladyfinger can be cultivated on different variety of soils, but for ideal growth of the crop sandy loam, clay loam soil which is rich in organic matter is preferred. The pH value of the soil should be in the range of 6.0 – 6.5.
In the northern parts, it is cultivated during the rainy & spring season. It is sown during June – July in the rainy season & February – March in the spring season.
