TOMATO

Tomato is an important food crop that is used as a vegetable mix, making salads and other purposes which is red & yellow in color. The major tomato-producing states in India are Maharashtra, Bihar, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh & Assam.

Tomato can be grown on a variety of soils like sandy & heavy clay soil, but it is preferred to use sandy or red loam soils which are rich in organic matter. The pH value of the soil should be in the range of 6.0 – 7.0 for efficient growth.

Tomato is a warm-season crop and the temperature range should be between 21°C - 24°C to maintain the color& quantity of the crop.
